Welcome to First Estate of Ascension, a non-profit organization based in Newark, New Jersey. Our mission is to engage and empower the youth by providing them with opportunities to develop trade skills and explore entrepreneurship. Through our programs, we aim to equip young individuals with the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed in their chosen fields.
Aspiring Entrepreneurship Program: Building a Foundation for Success
One of our flagship programs is the Aspiring Entrepreneurship Program, a two-year initiative designed to nurture the entrepreneurial spirit in young minds. Unlike traditional classroom-based learning, our program offers hands-on experience and practical training in home building. Yes, you heard it right – our students actually get to build a home!
During the two-year program, participants receive one-on-one training in actual home construction, where they learn essential skills such as safety protocols and basic construction techniques. We believe that there are no shortcuts in life, and by immersing themselves in real-world projects, our students gain invaluable experience and develop a strong work ethic.
Building Character and Life Skills
At First Estate of Ascension, we understand that success is not solely determined by technical skills. Therefore, our programs go beyond trade training and focus on building character and life skills. Through our entrepreneurship program, students learn important life lessons such as financial literacy, including how to balance a checkbook and manage personal finances.
In addition to financial literacy, we also prioritize drug prevention education. We believe that by equipping our students with knowledge about the dangers of substance abuse, we can empower them to make healthy choices and lead fulfilling lives. Our dedicated team of instructors and mentors are committed to providing a well-rounded education that goes beyond the classroom.
Furthermore, we offer various extracurricular activities to complement our programs. For instance, Chris, our experienced golf instructor with over 31 years of experience, provides golf lessons to interested students. These activities not only promote physical fitness but also instill discipline and teamwork.
